Description:  Ust-Ordynskiy Settlement is a small Buryat village only 1,5 hour drive north of Irkutsk. It used to be a capital of Autonomous Buryat Okrug (Russian Federal Subject) on the territory of Irkutsk region before it was merged to Irkutsk in 2008. The trip allows you to discover the culture and the lifestyle of Buryats, the local population that lived on the territory on Irkutsk region for many centuries before Russians arrived. The trip begins with a visit to Ust Ordynskiy Buddhist Monastery. Then proceeds with a guided tour to Local Lore museum founded in 1994. The museum depicts the artifacts belonging to Buryat culture including ancient coins, Buryat traditional dresses, etc. Tour is followed by lunch in a traditional Buryat cuisine restaurant.  After lunch enjoy ethnographic show performed by local shaman.  Return to Irkutsk.
